| Our
cottages are located in one of the city's oldest residential districts,
a short walk to the north of Cambridge city centre. The centre itself
is dominated by the University Colleges, buildings occupied by University
departments, offices and shops. This central area is surrounded
by tranquil parkland and the River Cam. |
| The
short walk into central Cambridge is picturesque. The most direct
route takes you along historic Castle Street, past Castle Mound,
the oldest part of the city once housing the Roman fort and Norman
castle, before crossing the river into the central district at Magdalene
Bridge. Alternatively, choose the slightly longer route through
quaint residential backstreets, over the River Cam at Jesus Green
Lock and through the wonderful avenues
of trees
and
open lawns
of Jesus Green park. |
