Both cottages are located in central Cambridge, 3 minutes on foot from each other and only 10 minutes on foot from the old University colleges in the hub of the historic city.
Cambridge city centre is dominated by the University's colleges and department buildings, offices and shops. This central area is surrounded by tranquil parkland and the meandering River Cam. Our cottages are located in one of the city's oldest residential districts, a short walk across the river to the north of the city centre.
The easy stroll into central Cambridge is picturesque. The most direct route takes you along historic Castle Street, past Castle Mound, the oldest part of the city once housing the Roman fort and Norman castle, before crossing the river into the central district at Magdalene Bridge. Alternatively, choose the slightly longer route through quaint residential backstreets, over the River Cam at Jesus Green Lock and through the wonderful avenues of trees and open lawns of Jesus Green park.
Within a five-minute walk of each cottage there are three supermarkets, two convenience shops, a post office, restaurants, several traditional British pubs and a variety of public parks.
The city's central square, Market Square, is an easy and attractive 15-minute walk; the cottages are 15 minutes on foot from the University's West Cambridge site, 10 minutes from Magdalene Street (the restaurant district of Cambridge); and only 5 minutes from the nearest University colleges of Fitzwilliam, St. Edmund's, Lucy Cavendish & Murray Edwards College (New Hall) and the Kaetsu and Moller conference centres. Being on the north side of the city both cottages are also only a short drive from the Cambridge Science Park.
